Shells are the limited currency of the MM2 Summer Event 2026, and they buy exactly one thing: the Summer Box '26 at 120 Shells per box. Here's how to earn the maximum every day — and how many boxes you can still bank before the event ends August 23.
The Daily Quest Table
Shells come from six daily quests, all driven by one number: how many coins you collect today. The thresholds stack, so one grind session clears them all:

Hit 960 coins in a day and you've cleared all six quests for the daily maximum of 120 Shells — exactly one free box per day. Quests reset at 8:00 AM UTC.

Reaching 960 Coins Without Burning Out
- Coins carry the quest, not wins. Every coin you pick up counts, whatever role you draw — a survival round spent hoovering coins does as much quest work as an innocent win.
- Play the event map. Pier is where the event's coin flow is, and you'll want map knowledge for the final-week rush anyway.
- Split it into sessions. 960 coins in one sitting is a grind; two or three shorter sessions before the 8AM UTC reset feel very different and bank the same 120 Shells.
How Many Free Boxes Can You Still Earn?
One free box per maxed day. Counting from today (August 2) to the scheduled end on August 23 at 5PM EDT, that's roughly 21 more free boxes if you clear the quests daily — enough to finish the entire 20-box reward track (Bubble Blower at 1, Bubbly at 6, RC Car at 12, Nightlife at 20) without spending a single Gem.
Should You Spend Gems Instead?
Boxes also cost 60 Gems each. Before you buy your way up the reward track, look at what's actually inside the box: 70% of pulls are Commons, and the chase items are long shots — Icecream at 0.2% and Chroma Icecream below 0.1%. After the Event
Shells and quests disappear on August 23, and every box item becomes an unobtainable collectible. If you pull anything good, check its live value on the values list and run trades through the value calculator — event-item prices move daily, especially in the final week.
