MM2 Summer Event 2026 Guide — Shells, Summer Box Odds & End Date
August 2, 2026
The Murder Mystery 2 Summer Event 2026 went live on July 23, 2026 and broke Roblox records — MM2 hit a peak of 1.1 million concurrent players on launch day, taking a record previously held by Adopt Me. The event is scheduled to end on August 23, 2026 at 5PM EDT, so the clock is running on everything below.

How Shells Work
Shells are earned by collecting coins in rounds. Six daily quests each pay Shells, and the thresholds stack as your daily coin total climbs:
| Daily quest | Reward |
|---|---|
| Collect 60 coins | 30 Shells |
| Collect 120 coins | 15 Shells |
| Collect 240 coins | 15 Shells |
| Collect 480 coins | 15 Shells |
| Collect 720 coins | 15 Shells |
| Collect 960 coins | 30 Shells |
That's a maximum of 120 Shells per day — exactly one free Summer Box daily if you clear every quest. Quests reset at 8:00 AM UTC. For the fastest routes to 960 coins a day, see our full guide to getting Shells fast.
Summer Box '26 — Every Item and Its Value
The box costs 120 Shells or 60 Gems. Here's the full loot table with listed chances and current trading values (live values on each item page — updated daily).
Reading the odds: the percentage is the chance of hitting that tier, and the items within a tier share it — so a 70% common roll is split across the four commons, not 70% for each one individually.
| Item | Type | Tier | Tier chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tourist | Knife | Common | 70% |
| Sand | Knife | Common | 70% |
| Duckies | Gun | Common | 70% |
| Cherries | Gun | Common | 70% |
| Neopolitan | Knife | Uncommon | 18% |
| Turtles | Knife | Uncommon | 18% |
| Floral | Gun | Uncommon | 18% |
| Pier | Knife | Rare | 8% |
| Sunset | Gun | Rare | 8% |
| Bubbles | Knife | Legendary | 4% |
| Icecream | Knife | Godly | 0.2% |
| Chroma Icecream | Knife | Chroma Godly | <0.1% |
Two numbers worth knowing: Icecream currently trades around 155 after settling from its launch spike, while Chroma Icecream — the season's chase item — has been climbing and currently sits around 2,000. Full odds math and whether boxes are worth opening: Summer Box odds & values breakdown.
Box Reward Track
Opening boxes also works through a cumulative reward track: 1 box unlocks the Bubble Blower, 6 boxes the Bubbly effect, 12 boxes the RC Car, and 20 boxes the Nightlife reward. Since maxed daily quests earn one free box per day, the full track is completable without spending Gems.
The Beach Bundle
The annual limited bundle costs 3,399 Robux for the godly knife Beachy, the godly gun Sands, and the bundle-exclusive Ocean effect — or 1,699 Robux for either weapon alone, with a chance of receiving the Chroma Beachy or Chroma Sands variant. Is it worth buying? We ran the numbers: Beach Bundle value analysis.
When the Event Ends — and What Happens to the Items
The event is expected to end August 23, 2026 at 5PM EDT — notably earlier than last year's summer event, which may point to the bigger update Nikilis has teased (potentially Season 2). After the end date, every event item becomes unobtainable and trades purely as a limited collectible. Track any item's trajectory on its value page, and use the value calculator before accepting event-item trades — prices move fast in the final week.
