Common MM2 Scams in 2026
Scammers are everywhere in Murder Mystery 2 trading. Here are the most common scams and how to protect yourself.
1. They Won't Prove They Own the Item
How it works: Someone wants to trade on Discord or other forums but refuses to join a game with you to show they actually have the item. They'll make excuses — "I'm on mobile," "just trust me," "I'll show you after you send."
How to avoid it: Always ask them to prove ownership in-game before agreeing to anything. If they won't join a server and show you the item in their inventory, they don't have it. Walk away.
2. The "Go First" Pressure
How it works: In cross-trades — where you're paying Robux, gift cards, or items from another game — the scammer insists you send first. They show fake vouches or claim "more reputation" to pressure you.
How to avoid it: Any reputable trader will always complete the trade with a reputable middleman (MM). If they refuse, they're planning to scam you. Reputable Discord servers including MM2.Rocks have verified middlemen available.
3. The Last-Second Swap
How it works: The scammer puts a high-value item in the trade window, then swaps it for a similar-looking lower-value item right before you accept.
How to avoid it: Always double-check both sides before accepting. If anything changes at the last second, decline immediately.
4. Fake Value Claims
How it works: Someone tells you their item is worth more than it is, or that yours is worth less. New players don't know values and trust what they're told.
How to avoid it: Check values yourself. Look up any item on MM2.Rocks and use the Trade Calculator to see if the trade is a Win, Loss, or Fair. Never take someone's word for it.
